Men’s Shed

The Men's Shed is more than just a place to keep busy. It's where men come together to share skills, swap stories, and feel genuinely part of something — over a hands-on project or a good conversation and a cup of tea.

Practical activities including woodworking, crafts, and repairs alongside relaxed social time. Programs are tailored to each person's ability and interests, with no pressure. Trained, caring staff on hand at all times.

Real friendships. A genuine sense of purpose and belonging.

Walking Groups

Our walking groups bring people together for regular outings in local parks and neighbourhoods — not as a fitness class, but as a way to get fresh air, enjoy conversation, and feel connected to the world around them. All fitness levels welcome.

Short and longer distances — completely up to each person on the day. Friendly staff walk with the group and make sure everyone feels safe. Post-walk refreshments at a local café or community space.

Better physical health, less isolation, and a genuine sense of community. Every week, rain or shine.

Bus Outings and Community Excursions

Regular trips to local attractions — markets, parks, the beach, museums, and cultural events — so there's always something to look forward to. New places to explore, good company to share it with.

Every outing is planned with accessibility and safety in mind. Safe, comfortable transport with support staff on board the whole time. Full risk assessments for every trip. Outings are tailored to diverse interests and mobility levels — no one is left out.

Subsidised options are available. Talk to us about what works for you.

Appointment and Companion Support

Getting to medical appointments, specialist visits, or personal errands shouldn't be stressful — and it shouldn't mean going it alone.
Auscare provides practical help with a human touch, handled with full respect for each person's privacy.

Transport arranged to and from each appointment. A familiar, reassuring face to accompany clients and offer support on the day. Personalised support for mobility and communication needs where required.

Everything handled with complete confidentiality and respect.

Technology Support Sessions

Staying in touch with family, watching a favourite show, or video-calling a grandchild should never feel out of reach. Relaxed, one-on-one or small group sessions — no jargon, no rushing — just patient, friendly guidance at each person's own pace.

Help with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs. Video calling — FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom — to stay connected with loved ones. Setting up email, photos, and favourite apps. Online safety tips so you feel confident and secure.

One-on-one or small group sessions, whatever works best.

Respite Support

Caring for someone you love is one of the most meaningful things you can do. It's also one of the most demanding. Auscare's respite support gives family carers a scheduled break while their loved one is in safe, caring hands.

Flexible scheduling — a few hours weekly through to longer blocks as needed. Familiar, consistent support workers so the client feels at ease. In-home respite or community-based activities depending on preference.

Full handover notes and open communication with the family at all times. Peace of mind that your loved one is in good hands while you take the time you need.
